"The challenge of shooting moving clay targets is irresistible."
Once experienced, the thrill of breaking a clay target arcing through the air or bouncing along the ground, is unforgettable. From that first shattered target, we awaken a growing desire to shoot at more targets at every opportunity. Then comes the inevitable need to improve our scores - to break more of those targets we attempt.
Bill Biss is a National Sporting Clays Association Certified Level III Instructor and a Member of the Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors in England. He brings a lifetime of shotgun shooting and thousands of coaching hours to the shooting ground to help you break more targets. Bill was formerly Chief Instructor at the Prince George's County Trap and Skeet Center in Glenn Dale, Maryland. The Center is a three million target per year facility just minutes from the Nation's Capitol, offering a full compliment of shotgun disciplines. While there, Bill developed the Shooting School and became a Certifying Instructor for the National Sporting Clays Association Instructor Program.
In early 2002, Bill moved to England where he coached shooters privately and at Sporting Targets Ltd. In Bedfordshire. In the UK, he worked with and had lessons himself with some of the legends of English clay target shooting. While there he was offered a membership in prestigious Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors.
In August of 2004, Bill returned to the United States, and now lives in Hanover, PA. As the only NSCA Level III to live and work in England, Bill brings years of experience, training and a unique background to clay target coaching.
Bill is also the Pennsylvania State Director for the Scholastic Clay Target Program sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. This is a volunteer position benefitting school-age children by teaching them gun safety, teamwork and marksmanship.
Bill finds coaching to be the most rewarding facet of his shooting career. Equally comfortable with beginners and experienced shooters, he utilizes a relaxed, positive approach to learning and improving scores. If you have never fired a shotgun or if you're trying to improve your shooting scores, you will benefit from his experience.
